Education & Professional Qualification:
Degree(s)/Major(s): Bachelor’s degree (BS – Computer Science), Masters preferred.
Certification(s): Any in the relevant field preferred
Experience: 6-8 years
Your typical day at work looks like:
- building an environment for the creative team to work in and overseeing their ideas and projects
- taking responsibility for the creative philosophy and the standard of output across the agency or department
- developing ideas for advertising or promotional campaigns
- pitching concepts to clients if you work at an agency, or presenting to directors if you work in-house
- overseeing several projects from start to finish, keeping to deadlines, and signing off on these projects before they are presented
- liaising with clients to keep them informed and to highlight any issues
- understanding the commercial aspects of the agency or marketing department
- hiring and managing the creative team.
- Ensure designs and content reflect consistently and positively the brand image and company ideals
- Anticipate problems that may impede a project from completing on time and implement solutions.
- Report progress of projects at major stages of their conception, creation, and execution
Functional Skills/ Knowledge Areas:
- Familiarity with a variety of software programs, such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Flash
- Knowledge of how to develop brand identities through multi-channel marketing
- Good comfort level interacting with high-profile clients and industry professionals
- Evidence of participation in ongoing professional development opportunities in the areas of graphic design or social media
- Recent hands-on experience with applying design, copy, or web best practices
- Professional business skills, such as negotiation, project management, and leadership
- Web design experience an advantage, especially using HTML5 and WordPress
- Talent in presenting information concisely and accurately, with keen attention to detail
